Stateside performer Pat Finn, who featured in beloved programs such as Friends, Seinfeld and The Middle, has succumbed at 60 years old.

The comedic improv actor died at home in LA on Monday after undergoing treatment for a cancer diagnosis since 2022, as reported by media reports.

"He considered no one a stranger - only friends he didn't know yet," his family stated in a announcement.

They continued that he had "experienced life to the fullest - with zest and passion".

A Prolific TV Career

Finn's first television role was in the George Wendt Show in 1995, where he portrayed the brother of the main character.

He also had a recurring role on Murphy Brown in the latter half of the 1990s.

He starred as the character Joe Mayo in "Seinfeld" in 1998, portraying a party host who would assign tedious tasks to his guests.

In the late 1990s and early 2000s, he appeared as a guest star on numerous hit series, such as:

  • "King of Queens"
  • "Friends"
  • That '70s Show
  • "House"

Finn was perhaps best known for his portrayal of Bill Norwood in The Middle, appearing throughout eight series over nearly a decade.

His film credits include It's Complicated and "Santa Paws 2".

Off-Screen Life

Away from his television work, Finn was an improv performer and also taught at the University of Colorado, where he was a professor.

He was involved with a comedy group of six named "Beer Shark Mice".

"He taught, supported, and inspired countless students over the years and it would be difficult to find anyone anyplace who has an unkind word to say about him," his family wrote.

Offering condolences, peer actor Richard Kind said there was "no kinder, gentler, funnier, grounded individual you could encounter".

"Consistently upbeat, helping you be funnier and better. A great dad, a great guy," Kind wrote publicly.

Pat Finn is leaves behind his partner Donna, three children, and his mother, father, and brothers/sisters.
