I will dominate 'serious combatant' Paul - Joshua
The British boxer will face the American YouTuber in an eight-round fight which will be broadcast in real-time on the streaming platform.
Briton Joshua declared he will "stamp all over" Jake Paul and "break" the American as the pair confronted each other to promote next month's bout.
Ex two-time unified title holder Joshua battles YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a mammoth uneven pairing - at Miami Kaseya Center on December 19th.
Boxer's Mentality
"I will damage his features and break his body up. I'm here to prove I'm the better fighter," Joshua, 35 years old, said.
"I'll stamp all over him. That's the boxer's mindset.
"I'm going to seriously aim to cause him pain. That's what I want to do."
Respectful Interaction
Despite these statements, a composed Joshua and social media star Jake Paul - typically famous for his dramatics - were respectful and maintained decorum with each other.
Jake Paul rather targeted former Joshua rival Francis Ngannou and described him as "a joke" after the Cameroonian declined a match opportunity.
Targeting Fury
Joshua, at the same time, took aim at British rival Fury - and rejected a £1m bet 'Tyson Fury' says he will place on a Paul win.
"[Paul] outshines Fury - he showed up," the boxer commented.
"I respect him for that."
Serious Fighter
Despite stating he plans to damage his opponent, Anthony Joshua refused to comment unfavorably about his opponent's fighting skills.
"Jake is a serious fighter," he remarked.
Jake Paul's Background
Paul - who initially became famous on the television network - has primarily fought MMA fighters or faded names since entering professional boxing.
He lost to British fighter Tommy Fury in 2023.
Commercial Success
However, the inexperienced fighter remains one of the sport's largest money-making draws, consistently making massive earnings.
Prediction and Belief
The 28 year old predicted a stoppage in rounds four or five and asserted he would derail the long-awaited Fury-Joshua bout, which is reportedly in the works for two years from now.
"It will be me versus Tyson Fury in the coming year," Jake Paul declared.
Physical Disparity
As Joshua and Paul participated in the usual stare-down, with their height and weight contrast evident, it emphasized just how improbable this complete situation is - and how amazing it is that the fight is truly going ahead.
