The Gory Animated Film Conclusion That Stays With Fans
Out of all the mature cartoon movies I’ve ever watched, no other has stuck with me as much as the fear-filled finale of the explicitly bloody and highly provocative 2022 movie Unicorn Wars.
Back in the year 2015, the Spanish filmmaker developed a grim, somber and frequently brutal world with some tiny , forlorn hints of hope.
While The Unicorn Wars appears as it originated from a desire to expand animation further, the director clarified that it was actually an effort to express a global, cross-cultural theme about “the mutual source of each battle.”
That idea is communicated via a band of colorful pastel bears , obviously inspired by a famous line of cuddly characters.
Growing up in a society built around warmongering and the war machine, numerous these creatures are fixated on slaughtering the mythical beasts, due to a holy book that tells the bears they used to be rulers of the woods, before these creatures drove them out.

At the same time, the unicorns are suffering their own horror, through an expanding, destructive monster in their woods.
“In the early stages, it seems like a humorous movie,” the filmmaker said. “However it evolves into a more dramatic and sorrowful movie. And in the finale, it transforms into a horror film.”
The Unicorn Wars begins feeling a bit like one of the more whimsical films from a renowned animator, which find a mischievous joy in allowing animated figures swear, shoot each other, or engage sexually.
Then it evolves into something more like a more grim work by that same artist, including ever more visual gore , a tangible connection to the real tragedy of battle.
By the end, it becomes a complete extreme drama carnage.
The horror that turns the film a Halloween-friendly viewing starts much sooner than one might expect.
Unicorn Wars is ideal for the devoted fans of gore, for fans of intense movies who want to watch a film they have not viewed until now, and can endure a story that pulls no restraint.
