The Streaming Platform is Developing a Popular Game TV Series from the Producers of the Alien Series and the Comedy Hit.
The latest action-packed instalment that players explored was Far Cry 6, which showcased Giancarlo Esposito as the bad guy, Antón, and was released on October 6, 2021. Throughout the franchise, it has a reputation for celebrating violence and madness with the same enthusiasm, all while weaving captivating, ideologically themed tales. Little surprise that the network’s new order for a Far Cry limited-run show attracted two producers whose work have embodied all of those things.
What to Expect
Adapted from Ubisoft's popular video game property, the limited anthology series will stream on Hulu and be produced by FX Productions. The series will also follow the video games' format by having a different backdrop and group of personalities in each season.
Key Producers
Rob Mac, mastermind of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, and Noah Hawley, the mind behind FX's Alien: Earth and Fargo, will serve as lead producers on the series under their labels, More Better Productions for Mac, and 26 Keys for Hawley. They will be joined by Emilia Serrano for 26 Keys, Nick Frenkel for 3 Arts, Jackie Cohn for More Better Productions, John Campisi, Gerard Guillemot, Margaret Boykin, and Austin Dill for Ubisoft Film & Television.
“FX has had excellent relationships with Rob Mac and Noah Hawley for a collective six series and 32 seasons of television, and we are overjoyed that they are joining forces for Far Cry,” commented Nick Grad, President, FX Entertainment, in a announcement. “I have no doubt that they will deliver this story in a way that is fresh, engrossing, and wildly entertaining. We also want to appreciate our collaborators at Ubisoft for trusting us with this beloved property.”
What’s Next
Mac will also appear in the show, but currently, we have no details on what part that might entail. Hawley's Alien: Earth was recently renewed for a second instalment, with FX and Disney agreeing to a new overall deal with the producer.
“Getting to work alongside Noah Hawley is a fantasy come true,” stated Rob Mac. “Ubisoft has been exceptionally generous, placing faith in us with one of the most famous video-game universes ever created. And throughout this process, my FX team constantly supports me with their ongoing belief and support.”
“What appeals to me about the Far Cry game collection is that it’s an standalone program. Each game is a interpretation of a idea, the same way every series of Fargo is a version on a story,” noted Hawley. “To create a epic action show that can change from season to season, while always exploring the essence of society through this complex and unpredictable viewpoint, is a ultimate goal. I’m excited to work with Rob and present our shared unconventional, daring style to the audience.”
A schedule for when we can look forward to the new Far Cry show has not been announced. The series will stream on Hulu in the United States and on Disney Plus internationally.
